Another end to a great semester.
I am blessed to still teach here at the College. On Wednesday’s from 3:35 to 6:40 p.m., I am privileged to teach 14 BC3 students in an Introduction to Public Relations course (COMM 230). On Wednesday, May 4, the spring of 2011 semester culminated with a final examination.
Our in-class discussions over the last few months have been lively. We discussed current events, new technology and its impact on PR as well as various PR and communication definitions, processes and models. We also spent a great deal of time on interviewing skills and crisis management.
I continue to be impressed with the high quality of our students – especially when considering the variety of work and personal life commitments these individuals tackle each day.
I have taught similar PR courses at institutions including West Virginia University, Marist College and Bethany College. I can say without hesitation these BC3 students stack up very well intellectually with strong written and oral communication skills.
So until next spring when I teach a new batch of Intro to PR students, enjoy the summer! It’s been a fantastic semester!
