The Oak Hills Legacy Dinner was held this past Saturday. The event is the equivalent of a homecoming at a university.
The dinner was memorable for me in so many ways.
First, my wife, Tammy, and I were able to bring our youngest daughter to her first College dinner. Second, this marked the first time that scholarship recipients were invited to the event (they were even seated with those who funded their respective scholarships). Third, the 30th anniversary of BC3’s Metrology program was celebrated. And, fourth, the Distinguished Alumni winners speeches were spectacular!
Just like Commencement in the spring, the Oak Hills Legacy Dinner is all that is right with being a community college. The dinner certainly reinforces our purpose – to provide quality, accessible and affordable higher education. The success stories and what we mean to our students is overwhelming to say the least.
What a great evening!
