I just love the buzz; made even better today with a touch of fall in the air. Main Campus is hopping this morning. Our maintenance staff is polishing the beautiful main campus grounds. I can see students and parents walking toward the Field House for our Welcome Day from my office window.
Yesterday, I was proud to give my annual “State of the College” address at Convocation. Of course, these are unique times in the higher education sector. But at BC3 – the three-time consecutive No. 1 community college in Pennsylvania – we continue to excel.
A great staff, tremendous Board of Trustees and BC3 Education Foundation Board, and phenomenal community support are key contributors to our successes. But the biggest reason our “student-centered” institution thrives is because of what goes on in our classrooms.
Students are taught by true experts in their fields – not graduate assistants or researchers. Faculty dedicate their lives to our most important asset – BC3’s students.
At Convocation, Dr. Belinda Richardson, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and I were able to recognize recently promoted faculty. They are:
Deborah Kruger (Assistant Professor)
Lindsay B. Lanigan (Assistant Professor)
Travis Timmons (Assistant Professor)
Stephen M. Mayfield (Associate Professor)
Jennifer Sarabok (Associate Professor)
To all, have a terrific 2019-20 academic year. #PioneerProud!!!!
