Did you have a good Fourth of July?
The Fourth is one of my favorite holidays. In higher education circles, July Fourth also serves as an indicator that the summer break is halfway over.
BC3 really has little down time. While graduation was held May 18, our three-week classes started immediately afterwards. Now, we are well into our six and eight week summer offerings.
This year’s summer session not only has a record enrollment of 1,653 students, 7,805 credits were sold – that’s about eight percent higher than last summer.
If you haven’t registered for your fall semester classes, you better hurry. Sections are filling fast. Enrollment is already up 12.1 percent from our record breaking fall of 2009 semester, while credits sold are increasing at a 13.5 percent clip.
Enjoy the rest of July and August… either taking classes, working, and/or spending time with friends and family. Before you know it, another academic year will begin.
