Labor Day is on the calendar to pay tribute to those workers who make America so great.
We have many working students at BC3. I admire you juggling the rigors of college with the demands of employment.
As tough as it may be, don’t forget to put your studies first. Countless surveys indicate the more education an individual receives, the more money that individual will make over a lifetime.
Ideally, your education and employment can work together to make you marketable with your profession of choice.
As an undergraduate print journalism major at Penn State, I complimented my studies with part-time work as a sports correspondent. I covered many high school football, basketball and baseball games in my day. All of that experience, along with a bachelor of arts degree earned in 1989, certainly helped me find a job right out of college at the Beaver County Times.
Enjoy the holiday!
