A College goal, as well as one of my own presidential goals as approved by the Board or Trustees for the 2008-09 academic year, pertains to campus safety.
BC3 took a major step in its proactive safety plan when our Board of Trustees approved a firearms policy for campus police. The policy was approved at the September Trustees meeting and includes proper training opportunities for our police department.
Other new safety initiatives at BC3 include: an emergency text message and email system, four emergency calling stations and use of the new electronic billboards. The emergency stations and billboards will be placed on our main campus as the Student Success Center opens in the Fall of 2009.
Other mock-crisis trainings will be conducted by BC3’s executive Team and eventually staff and students.
