My path has changed many times within the last couple of years. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted just for it to change again on me. I had to learn to be patient through everything because I knew it was all on Gods timing. It has been a crazy ride but I wouldn’t change it for anything. I can’t wait to graduate and soon become a licensed massage therapist. Thank you BC3 for setting me up for the rest of my life!

“The future awaits those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” I was inspired by this quote because it has encouraged me to believe I am capable of achieving my dreams.I chose to incorporate flowers and butterflies because they benefit from one another in their environment and I have definitely benefited from my experience at butler county community college. I’m thankful for the opportunity to be apart of such an incredible environment.

What inspired my design was my love for 70s culture and the classic film Austin Powers. I felt my cap was one of a kind.

My inspiration for my cap was looking forward to my future as a neonatal ICU nurse. Becoming a NICU nurse is a dream come true as I am able to help babies just like me at the same hospital I was taken care of 21 years ago.

Nursing school was one of the most challenging experiences. Between balancing being a mother of two girls and nursing school, it seemed there was never enough time to study and cram all the information in before exams. There were many nights I stayed up all night to complete my work and study. I would be exhausted but I just did my best and pulled through. People would ask me how I did so well on exams and my answer was I pray. I did my best and left the rest up to God. I knew if it was meant to be He would help me and He did so that's why I choose this saying for my graduation cap. I'm so grateful for each and every one of my nursing instructors who took the time to share their knowledge with me and helped me grow not only academically as a student but as a person. Although nursing school was very difficult and sometimes seemed impossible, I loved every minute of it.

I thought my cap was a fun play on words, “Time for Shots” as in health care, but also because I’m finally graduating and going to celebrate!

I love Disney!! This quote is from the Carousel of Progress at Walt Disney World in Florida. The chorus repeats, "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of everyday." Walt Disney believed in progress and advancements in technology, which is the main focus of the show. I plan to further my education after graduation and continue to learn and grow. I look forward to what tomorrow brings!

The song "Underdog" by Alicia Keys. When I had first started nursing school this song had just came out and I felt the lyrics fit my situation very well. I had graduated high school 20 years ago and had been working at the same job for 18 years when I decided to head back to school to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. You may be the underdog but if you keep on and chase those dreams anything is possible.

The inspiration for my cap came from one of my favorite TV show characters, Alexis Rose (from Schitts Creek). I really admired her positivity and personal growth. I also love that we both had similar paths of going back to school for business! I plan to transfer to Franklin University for my bachelors degree.

My inspiration for my cap was to remind me that it does take a BIG heart to shape little minds! Becoming a teacher was my dream since I was a little girl. I'm so glad I made my dream come true!

What inspired your cap?

I had been accepted to nursing school (at BC3x2 and other schools x2), but it never seemed like I could make the time to dedicate to finishing school. I decided to apply 1 more time to BC3, was accepted, and started the next day (met with admissions the day before the start of the semester for prerequisites).

I wanted to make it myself. I am happy with the result. If anyone KNOWS me, knows this hat screams my name to the sky.

Aleshia Skok

What inspired your cap?

I chose this because I did part time college while working so it took me four years to get my Associates rather than two. Inspired by SpongeBob time lapse 🤣

Anyone that knows me knows how much I love my coffee! Though my fiancé tells me liking coffee isn't a personality trait, I disagree. 😂
I accepted a position at Allegheny General Hospital in their Medical ICU. Therefore, my cap represents two of my passions- nursing and coffee. 😄
